3 Red Liquid Lipsticks For New Years
It's that weird time between Christmas and New Year’s, where you don’t know what day it is, but it’s not quite January 1. Some people are off, others are working from home, plus there’s a select few who are actually going into work. Everywhere you go people are saying happy holidays, because you can’t say Merry Christmas anymore. People are even saying Happy New Year, because they don’t know the next time they’ll see you before the new year. People keep asking me what I’m doing for New Year’s, but I’m really unsure. All my life, up until a the pandemic, I brought in the new year by going to church. I was in Houston to bring in 2021, I watched church virtually, and then went out afterwards. Unfortunately, last year I brought in the new year in the house sick with Covid. Of course, I thought about how I want to celebrate this year: A part of me wants to do a solo vacation, While another part of me wants to be with my family. I even thought about bringing in the new year by going to a party. I’m really not sure how I want to celebrate this year, but one things for sure, I will have a red lip.
Lipstick colors have bigger symbols than you think. Wearing red lipstick is such a bold and powerful move. Some women of color feel like they can't wear red lips and I'm here to tell you, THAT'S A LIE! I don't know who started the lie that red lipstick is unflattering and loud on brown women, but it needs to end. Red lipsticks come in all shades, so no matter what undertones you have, there is one out there for you. Celebrities like Gabrielle Union, Tyra Banks, Brandy, Rihanna, Nia Long and more, have been seen rocking red lips on carpets and at events. When a woman wears a red lip, it means she is powerful and empowered. I haven’t quite figured out my word for next year, but I know I want to be confident and bold. That’s exactly what red lipstick does for me. When I wear red lipstick, I feel like I can do any and everything. I don’t care if my life is falling apart, when I put on red lipstick, I can handle anything that comes my way. I just started getting into lipsticks within the last couple of years. I’ve enjoyed trying different formulas to see which ones I liked you didn’t like. I’m still exploring when it comes to lipsticks, but I have found my go to's. 2. The Lip Bar | Bawse Lady Vegan Matte Lipstick
I was listening to a podcast by Myleik Teele a few years ago and she mentioned this being the perfect red lipstick. I didn’t run to the store to get it because I wasn’t into red lipsticks like that back then. This Christmas, I gifted my aunt a mixture of red lipsticks and was researching which ones to pick up. I was scrolling on Instagram and saw Mattie James raving about this lipstick , so I decided to pick some up. This red matte but not dry, and lasts all day. 3. Fenty Beauty | Uncensored Stunna Lip Paint
I was super late to the party with this one. I have tons of Fenty Beauty products in my collection like foundation, concealer, setting powder, and lipgloss.
