Dear Perfect Guy, Wrong Time

Dominique Phillips • Jul 04, 2017
Sometimes we get the best things when we aren't even looking for them. I’ve questioned myself if i would ever try to go back and redo our relationship but you can't relive a moment, once that moment is gone you can't get it back. You just move on and learn from it and that's why time is never really wasted it's just a learning experience. Meeting you, becoming bestfriends with you to dating you was overall worth it. The experiences we gave each other were unique and cannot be replaced. I sometimes look back and get sad because I miss them, but I have realized that no matter what, you have been and continue to shape the person I am and will be. Although we are no longer in each other's lives, I know that there was a reason for us coming into each others lives. It wasn’t because we went to the same school, or because we enjoyed the same things, but because we taught each other things no other person could teach us. You meet some people and they serve in your life as bridges, the next transition to you learning something. We no longer get to talk and ask how each other's day went everyday, but that doesn’t mean I don’t still wonder how you are doing. How things are going, how life is treating you, if you are doing the things that you love, how girls are treating you, how school is treating you, and most importantly if you are still happy. It is difficult to imagine someone else holding what felt like a world to me but if it ever was love it’s unfair to not explore and live a life that can make us both happy.

So here's to all the heartfelt text messages we sent, the long phone calls at 3 in the morning, the excessive amounts of fast food we ate, playing basketball, watching Martin all day and night and the horrible movies i selected to watch, here is to laying together holding each other tight and you kissing my forehead, here is to the the endless laughs and smiles we shared, and the tears we shed for each other, the fights we got in over the music, and most importantly here is to breaking each others hearts. Not because we hate each other or don’t love each other anymore, but because we knew that our time together was over.

      Sincerely,
Snowflake
