#NationalRedWineDay

It's always a good time to wine down especially, when it's a holiday. Today, August 28th, is National Red Wine Day. If you're 21 and over, go grab you a glass and pour yourself some red wine. There's so many red wines ranging from $2 and up including Merlot, Pinot Noir, Bordeaux, Cabernet Sauvignon and blends like Shiraz. Today is Friday, we survived another week. It's the start of the weekend. What better day than today to have a glass of wine.

I used to hate wine, until I kept trying them. One of the biggest misconceptions with red wine, is that it can't be chilled. The first time I tried red wine, it was room temperature pinot noir. I thought it was GROSS. After trying it cooler, I actually enjoyed it. I also thought red wine couldn't be sweet, but that isn't true. There is sweet red wines like Stella Rosa, Sunstruck, Red Vin, Jam Jar, Hazzlitt, and Liberty Creek, just to name a few. I've learned that I love cheap wine from Kroger and Trader Joes.

When I was trying to explore red wines, I learned some shocking news. "Researchers from Charité Universitätsmedizin Berlin, found that a resveratrol, a compound found in red wine, boosts concentration.'' They ran a test that showed how men and women did better in mental arithmetic tests after being given resveratrol. In moderation, researchers show that red wine helps you think. Red wine has also been proven to help with many health factors.

After a long hard working week, I love to wine down and listen to music or take a bath. It is one of my ways for self care. Today, I have a reason to pour a glass. Explore your red wines at your local liquor or even grocery store. I love trying new wines, attending wineries, doing tastings and learning about the wine realm. Make sure that when consuming alcohol, you're in a safe place, not driving and watching your drinks! Let me know what red wines you love! Have a great weekend. Drink responsibly!
