I Burned My Face

Dymond Phillips • Jun 26, 2018
 Happy Monday,

I wanted to share this post on something very crazy that happened to me two weeks ago. Let me start by saying, my skin is clearing up so much and I'm super excited about that. Cutting out pop, and being consistent with my daily face routine was very tough at first but I've created a habit and now I just do it without thinking. Anywho, I saw a pimple on my face that just wouldn't go away. I was cleaning and moisturizing but yet it was still there. After three days went by I started googling remedies to get rid of pimples. Then I had a aha moment when I remembered how I used to put toothpaste on my face for pimples. I don't know why I decided to do this again, I have very sensitive skin.
So I washed my face, exfoliated my face, put on my moisturizer and then put this Colgate tooth paste over my pimple. Initially, I felt a burning sensation but I thought that was the toothpaste working its magic. WRONG! So I went to sleep and woke up the next morning to take it off. When I first woke up my face was so achy I can't even describe the pain. I continued with my normal morning routine, I washed my face and started my day. Throughout the day, my face felt funny but I thought nothing of it. The next day leaving work I happened to feel my face and it felt crunchy. I'm thinking what in the world is wrong. Once I parked my car I used my flashlight on my phone to look in the mirror and see what was going on. I could not believe my eyes, MY FACE WAS LITERALLY BURNED!
Of course I'm panicking, and started googling. I found this one video on Youtube of some girl who was going thru the same thing. She went to the hospital and they gave her some special cream. After watching that my panicking got worse because I don't have a doctor here in Miami yet. Another thing I learned in the video was that if you don't fix it fast it could leave a permanent mark, and who wants that! After calming down I decided to just continue using my daily face products and see what happens.
After about five days I started to see it gradually go away. Now I'm happy to say it's completely healed and my face is back to normal, not yet 100% clear but it's clearer than it was yesterday and the day before that. I'm planning on sharing my complete skin care journey once it clears up a little more. Moral of this story is everything does not work the same for everybody. Toothpaste gets rid of some people pimples but not for me. For some people it irritates the skin, so some may believe that it dries out pimples, but what it really does is irritate and cause redness and peeling. Do whats best for you and your skin!
