The Multi-Talented, Hustling Beast

Todays Slay Of The Week is a Chicago native. She realized at a young age that she was created to be heard and felt. Her name is Jermesha, better known as busy. Busy, is a two time author, mentor, mental health advocate and creator of Brown Girl Proverb. Brown Girl Proverbs mission is to, "Promote creativity, beauty, social and mental health awareness and literacy in the African American communities.''On top of that, 'Brown Girl Proverb,' is the title of Busy's first book, which is a memoir. Her second book, 'Losses and Gains,' is a fiction story of a girl based in Outwest Chicago.

Busy also has many talents and hustles that she does on the side. She sings, dances, makes clothes, does hair and makeup, and so much more. She discovered her purpose through trying different things. Busy is more than a name, it's her lifestyle. I'm so happy she found some time in her schedule to chat with me. I hope hearing her journey encourages you, the same way it did me.
I loved talking to Busy. Her energy was so open. I'm thankful she was so transparent, I know that isn't easy. I can't wait to see what's next for her. Make sure you grab her books, click here. You can keep up with her via Instagram. The next time I'm in Chicago, I'll definitely be linking with her. May is Mental Awareness Month, it may be time to check on yourself. Remember, you can do anything you put your mind to. Until next week.
