Little Black Girl

Dymond Phillips • Jun 12, 2018
A while ago I made a post about nightmares and the meanings of them. I don't know why but it amazes me that adults still get nightmares. A few weeks ago I was wrapping up the final things for my move to Miami, I was woken up by a nightmare that would make me question even going. Close your eyes I'm about to walk you through this disturbing nightmare.

Imagine a nice Miami day, everyone is sitting outside enjoying the weather. There's BBQ's going on, Kids are running around playing and as all of this is going on some little black girl is moving in to one of the empty apartments. Everyone is starring because they don't know what she's doing. The little girl can see everyone starring at her; she feels the judgement coming. This complex has a family feel everyone there has been raised there, everyone knows everyone. They have a hard time accepting new comers. As she is inside unpacking boxes, she decides to stop midway to explore the neighborhood. As she's out she looks outside the gates and see's a man coming towards the complex. The people who are all outside the gates are enjoying the weather in their lawn chairs and see him coming. They attempt to get up and leave, but it's too late. The man pulls out a gun and kills them in their tracks. The first firing of the bullet is the loudest, BANG BANG BANG BANG BANG. Within a minute the life of four people were gone. Everyone inside the gates began to panic and run. The little black girl is so shocked it takes her a minute to even come back to her senses. As she is in shock she locks eyes with the killer and in that moment she realizes what she had just witnessed. She takes off, he chases her, but by time he reaches the gate it's completely closed. Later in the day she begins talking to a girl in the neighborhood, she tells her everything because she had to tell someone, she couldn't hold it in any longer. After hearing the whole story the girl initially gets up looks the little black girl in her face and says very sternly, "It's your fault." She runs to tell others what she'd just discovered. The little black girl is sitting there all alone and begins to question how it could possibly be her fault. The next day, the girl looks out her window. People are back outside enjoying the nice weather, but this time nobody is outside the gate. But yet the gate is still opened. The killer came back again killing everyone in his path to get to her. On the third day she's outside the gate talking to her mother who tells her to continue to pray for peace and assures her it's not her fault as she is hugging her mom she hears her mom gasp and whisper get inside. The killer is coming and begins to fire his gun once more. They’re running and yelling close the gate but nobody seem to be paying attention. The little black girl is running for her life and as she reaches her door she feels the bullet enter her back slowly. As it reaches her spine.......I WAKE UP

I woke up with the deepest breathe I was sweating and couldn’t believe the nightmare I just had. By now I hope you know the little black girl is me in the dream. Crazy thing is, I was moving into a all Hispanic complex. I had spoke to someone earlier who told me Miami is very racist and the people speak little to no English. That's why you have to pray before you go to sleep and feed your body positive spirits because eight times out of ten whatever you think about while you're awake will be on your mind while asleep. Be careful, you don't want to be woken up out your sleep by a horrible nightmare. Also, don't allow your fears and nightmares to stop you from following your heart. Since moving here I have been welcomed by everyone I've came across and it's nothing like I thought it would be. You have to know how to cancel out people's opinions because people will say whatever to stop you from following your dreams. Sometimes they don't do it on purpose they just do it.
