Slay of the week

This weeks slay of the week is someone who is extremely close to me. I've known her for 10+ years. I've watched her blossom into this beautiful 21 year old woman she is now. From heartbreaks, to moves, to hanging on the porch, we've been through it all. Just look at the picture above here, we were 14/15 it's crazy how time flies. She knows the old Dymond, the Dymond who used to hang on the porch on Hagen on those late nights. She is in her last year at Buffalo State College. Recently she turned 21 and is currently heading down the path of success. She is currently in school to become a CRNA. Do you know what a CRNA is? Well it's an Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetics. Want to know who I'm talking about? Well allow me to introduce you to Mone't Kendrick.
Like I said before, this is Mone'ts last year of undergrad. Next spring she will be attending the University at Buffalo. Am I the only person who hates when people asked them questions about why I'm not doing something? Like, why aren't you trying to be a fashion design major or why didn't you go to school in Michigan? I only hate it because it always comes from people who know nothing about my life. Or it comes from somebody who's asking me and judging me at the same time. You get me? Well anyways one question Mone't is always asked is, "Why not become an Anesthesiologist?" She responded by saying, Being an anesthesiologist will require me to have demanding hours. I would like to have a family one day and I would want to be there for my children and husband. I never want to miss a football game, dance recital or promotional dinner. PLUS crna's make a good penny without going to med school."
Mone't is a prime example of a dream chaser. She know's what she wants in life and is taking the steps to get there. Being a female, you have to push hard for your dreams. College isn't easy: there's good days, bad days, hard times, loneliness, hard work, bad professors, BUT it's worth it in the end. Personally, sometimes I sit and think if I wasn't in school what would I be doing with all my time, how would I learn new things? It's nice to have a cute face but what's a cute face if it's nothing in her brain. Mone't has beauty and brains. Besides book smarts, she has life smarts it's times when I need to talk about different things in my life and she gives me real advice whether I like it or not.
On top of all of that, Mone't can slay at the drop of a dime. Her style is so unique but girly at the same time. Recently, I was watching stories on Snapchat and as I saw hers my mouth hit the floor. She was wearing these shoes that were to die for. It was then that I knew I had to put her on here. In the picture below, Mone't is wearing a Topshop army top with a black leather skirt from H&M. She paired it with these cute tie up heels from Fashionnova. Her accessories also make the outfit, she's wearing some rings that are from Fashionnova too. This outfit gets a A++++ from us here at Dymond's Diary. You look gorgeous. Continue to chase your dreams and education. I want to thank you for always being amazing to me. We can not talk for months and talk like we just spoke yesterday. You're one of the realist people I know. I love watching you grow.
