We Are In The Tie Dye Renaissance

Look who made a new and improved come back in 2020

On days that I’m not filming, comfortability is everything. I love joggers, biker shorts and sweats. Spring is here and with that, I love spring colors and pastels. Just because we are locked inside, doesn’t mean we can't be stylish. Last year in the spring, the tie dye trend resurfaced. This year the trend has returned again, with a new switch. Traditional tie dye is colorful and done mainly on white cotton based cloth. New age tie dye is focused on pastels and more vibrant patterns. We are currently in the tie dye renaissance. According to Harpers Bazar, "Global fashion search platform Lyst reports that tie-dye is one of the fastest growing fashion search keywords of the year so far,"
This new age tie dye trend was seen on Spring/Summer 2020 runways from brands like Proenza Schouler, John Elliot, MSGM, Christian Dior, Stella McCartney, Prada, Versace and more. Tie dye pieces can also be picked up at Urban Outfitters, Who What Wear, and Nordstrom. Rather than being super hippie, this trend can now be styled more chic, edgy or street style. Tie dye print can be found in swimwear, tops and bottoms. I love that brands are incorporating this trend into loungewear. Brands like Fashion Nova, Target, Kohls, Forever 21, ASOS, and more are all now offering tie dye jogging suits.
I picked up my tie dye jogging suits from target (click here for both: green, lavender

Wearing tie dye makes me feel like a kid again. I think about the times I'd make my own t-shirts or socks. I love this trend and I can't wait to wear it all season. This is just one way I keep myself sane during the craziness in the world. Being able to still feel trendy, while being comfortable inside, is my happy place. During these times, I'm doing more of what makes me happy so I can stay positive! Identify what that looks like for you and incorporate it into your everyday life.
