Summer 2026 Was One for the Books
The 10th Annual End of Summer Fast & Detox Is Here

Normally, around this time, I’m sad because I feel like summer has gone by too quickly. But for some reason, this summer has felt really full.
I’ve had a plethora of emotions that I’ve gone through this summer. I’ve had a lot of changes, and I honestly feel like I got to really enjoy myself. I got to take trips, spend some solo time, and even have some amazing days outside. I got my steps in, explored this city through a new lens, and honestly, it’s been actually fun.
Even something as small as going to different coffee shops felt like an adventure. I can definitely say this was a summer for the books.
And when I say that, I don’t mean that because I was outside all summer or because I was doing the most. I mean this was a very transformative summer for me internally, especially when it comes to who I am as a woman and my personal development.
I got to know myself on a deeper level this summer, and I got to face some of my biggest fears.
I feel like my season quickly changed in the middle of July, and I really went balls out in Atlanta my last month in June. Overall, this was a summer for the books, not necessarily as far as excitement goes, but as far as life goes.
Summer 2026 was one that grew me up quickly and made me face some of the things I had been hiding.
Summer 2026 made me confront how I show up for other people and, most importantly, how I show up for myself.
It made me confront how I respond to things, my triggers, my habits, and the parts of myself that I still have room to grow in.
Overall, Summer 2026 was interesting, to say the least. And I won’t lie and say that I’m sad that it’s over. I’m actually really excited for what’s to come.
It’s Time for Our End of Summer Fast & Detox
Every year, we do an End of Summer Fast & Detox, and this year, I’m excited. Well I’m excited every year.
This was something that God blessed me with the thought to have, and it’s crazy to see how much it has transformed over the years. I’ve talked about it a thousand times, but if you’re new here, let me catch you up.
This fast started when I started the blog. I was a junior in college, and I started something called Fasting for 4.0s. It was the perfect way for me to reground, recenter, and refocus at the end of summer before going back into a new school year. It was honestly something that I used to do personally that I just started sharing with the world.
And even now that I’m no longer in college and I’ve already graduated, it’s something that I continue to do with the changing of seasons.
Summer is fun and exciting. We’re outside. We’re doing all the things. We’re seeing everybody. There’s so much going on between graduations, traveling, and so much more.
And none of that is bad.
But with so much going on, what better time than now to recenter our focus on God? And that’s not to say that you don’t focus on God throughout the year, because we always do and should. This fast is about reconnecting and recommitting in a way that makes Him the priority again.
We all fall short.
We all get distracted.
There are so many things vying for our attention, our phones, social media, relationships, friendships, life mishaps, changes, work, and everything else happening around us.
Life changes so much that sometimes we don’t even realize how distracted we’ve become.
So right now, it’s time to quiet the noise around us and refocus on God.
This Year, We’re Doing Seven Days
My intent was originally to do this the week leading up to summer ending, which is September 22nd. But life started to life. I had some things come up that I had to pay attention to. Saint had an accident, and I’ve been putting all of my attention and focus into him. I couldn’t let this season change without doing the End of Summer Fast & Detox.
So this year, we are starting Monday, September 21st, and going through Monday, September 28th. It is a seven day fast and detox.
I know summer technically ends on the 22nd, so this will actually be leading us out of summer and into fall. Honestly, I think it’s the perfect time.
It’s right before Q4.
Right before October 1st.
Right before we jump into the holidays.
Right before the year is gone.
As we enter this new season, what better time than now to fast, reset, and recommit?
This is a fast for change.
A fast for growth.
A fast for spiritual enlightenment.
A fast for breakthrough.
A fast for a deeper relationship with the Father.
This is a fast to get back to that childlike faith that we all should have.
What to Expect
Starting Monday the 21st, I will send you daily blogs and tasks, along with a song and a scripture to marinate on for the day. It’ll be seven days of silence and turning our heads upward.
Now, a traditional fast is food, and I understand that everyone is in a different place and a different season of life.
I want this fast to be intentional for you. So with this fast, all you have to do is make a list of three things. Three things that you have given your attention and focus to. Three things to turn away from so you can turn your focus toward Him.
It’s not enough to just get rid of these three things. You have to replace them. Replace them with time with the Father.
Time in His Word.
Time in prayer.
Time to hear His voice quietly.
So many people fast and just turn their plate away, but they don’t turn their eyes upward. And that’s not what a fast is.
Traditionally, biblically, fasting involves turning away from food or something else you’re sacrificing so that you can lean on God and get closer to Him. You turn your plate to deny your flesh so that you can seek God and deepen your intimacy with the Father.
This this fast is no different. Even though it may not be food for you, I need you to look at some of the things that have your attention. Some habits that you’ve been doing without even realizing it.
It may be social media.
Gaming.
Talking on the phone.
Drinking.
TV.
Streaming.
I don’t know what that thing is for you. If it is food for you, that’s okay too.
This is the time to really sacrifice in order to get closer to your Father.
So, with these next couple of days before we start on Monday at noon, I challenge you to take some time to go into prayer and ask God: What should I give up? What should I surrender for these seven days?
It doesn’t matter where you are in your spiritual walk. You may be a baby Christian, or you may be a 30 year devoted Christian. It doesn’t matter. We all need more intimacy with the Father.
If You’re Not Spiritual, Join the Detox
If you are not spiritual or aren’t in the faith like I am, that is okay. I still want this to be a detox for you. I started making this a Fast & Detox early on because I knew that everyone wasn’t spiritual. And even if you aren’t, you still need a reset going into the fall.
We consume so much mess throughout the summer.
So much content.
So much food.
So much entertainment.
So much information.
So much noise.
It’s time to give your body and your mind a reset going into this next season.
Whether you’re doing the 90 Day Run, locking in, or just getting serious about your goals going into Q4, I challenge you to join this detox.
For this detox, all you have to do is think of three unhealthy habits that have played a role in your life.
It could be waking up and immediately grabbing your phone.
Sleeping in.
Eating junk.
Talking negatively about yourself.
Scrolling too much.
Whatever it is, take some time to really look inward and see what you don’t like about yourself or what’s been holding you back from this next version of you.
For the seven days of the detox, I’ll be sending you different activities to reconnect with yourself and your own thoughts outside of society and social media.
We’re getting back to the dreams that we had as kids.
Getting back to ourselves.
Getting back to refocusing.
Go Inward and Upward
I really want you to take some time, whether you are doing the fast, the detox, or both like me, to really be honest and go inward and upward when it comes to what you want to release and surrender.
Go inward and be honest with yourself.
Go upward and seek God.
What do you want to release?
What do you need to surrender?
What has been taking your attention?
What has been holding you back?
Where are you right now, and where do you want to go?
Be honest with yourself, and don’t cheat God. These seven days are going to be impactful and moving, but the impact depends on your honesty about where you are and where you want to go.
It’s time to silence the noise and the people around us and just refocus.
I’m only asking for seven days.
Seven days to transform.
Seven days to reset.
Seven days to kickstart your way back to the life you want.
Seven days to get back to the childlike faith that the Word says we should have.
Year 10: Divine Order
I hope you will join me. I’m so excited to have you take this time.
You have less than three days before we kick this whole thing off. I’ll be chatting with you on Monday, the first day of the fast, to kick us into it.
I’m sending out seven days of renewal.
It’s the greatest time of year for me. It’s always so transformative and such a sweet moment that I look forward to every single year. And I’m so happy that this is Year 10.
I can’t believe that we’ve made it here. When I started this in college, I had no idea I would still be doing it ten years later. When I think about the number 10, I think about divine order and completeness. I feel like that is exactly what we need right now. We’ve got to do things the right way.
God needs to be at the center and at the head of everything that we do. So it’s time to get this divine order back in order.
Think about creation. God created the Earth before He put humans in it.
There was an environment.
There was an infrastructure.
There was order.
And what does that mean for us?
It’s time to get our “earth” in order.
Our bodies.
Our minds.
Our habits.
Our routines.
Our environment.
Because if the infrastructure isn’t in place, we won’t be able to properly go after everything that we want.
You have to get your environment in order.
You have to get your mind in order.
You have to get your body in order.
You have to get your spiritual life in order.
Sometimes we’re asking God for the next thing, but we haven’t prepared the environment to hold it.
So maybe this Year 10 isn’t just about asking God for what we want.
Maybe it’s about asking God:
“What needs to come into divine order in my life?”
What do I need to release?
What do I need to surrender?
What has been taking too much of my attention?
What needs to be put back in its proper place?
What is God trying to uncover in me?
That’s what I want these seven days to be about.
Going inward and upward.
Getting quiet.
Getting honest.
Getting back to God.
Getting ourselves in order.
Preparing our minds, bodies, spirits, and environments for whatever is next. Because I believe there is still so much ahead.
So, let’s do it together.
Seven days. Inward and upward. Less noise. More God. Let’s get back in order.
I’ll see you Monday.
