Comparison is the thief of joy

Confidence is truly key. I know it’s very cliché, but when you operate out of confidence, your life elevates. Confidence comes from knowing. When you truly know yourself and love yourself, you operate out of confidence. confidence is different from cockiness. A lot of people think that if they embrace confidence, people will perceive it as cockiness, but that isn’t the truth. Cockiness is bragging without having the skills to back it up. It’s what happens when you try to fake confidence. When you’re confident, you not only believe in yourself, but you actually have the skills to back it up. Having the skill, takes work. You have to put in work to be confident. When you’re cocky, you think you’re better than other people. Cocky people are typically in competition with others. Confident people are only in competition with themselves. When you’re confident, you are not worried about with others are doing,  because you’re so focused on your self. Be careful not to fall in the trap of becoming cocky, because it’s a façade that will wear off. Most cocky people are not happy with themselves. They are so insecure with themselves, that they continue to compare themselves to others. They even talk down on other people. Focus on you and becoming the best version of you. When you’re running a race and you look over, you slow down, because you’re so focused on what the other person is doing. Stay in your own lane. Comparing yourself to others is like taking a test, and trying to cheat, but the person next to you has a completely different test. When you start to compare yourself to others, it slows you down from reaching your purpose. Today, I just want to encourage you to focus on you. It’s a very thin line between cockiness and confidence, be careful you don’t fall on the other side.
