Blogmas Day 4: Life Lessons

Dymond Phillips • Dec 04, 2018
I know it’s Blogmas and all about Christmas but it’s some things I want to talk to you about today. Not only is Christmas this month but it’s also the last month until the new year and we have to make sure we are setting ourselves up to live our best life in 2019. With that being said, Let’s be real we’ve all done this. Knew something wasn’t the best thing to eat but ate it anyway because it was convenient. Many times I plan to go home and make a nice meal but by 7o’clock while I’m on my way home I past a Wendy’s and pull over. Not only when it comes to food but with a lot, we tend to gravitate to things we know are no good for us because they’re convenient or it's comfortable. I’m here to tell you let go of the “only” convenient things in life. For example: if you hate your job and you dread going each day.........CHANGE IT. Don’t compromise your happiness just for convenience. Another thing we as females tend to do is keep people in our life who are convenient. We have to stop using these stupid excuses to keep people in our life. Here’s a few

“I mean we’ve been together for years.” “I’ve known her my whole life.” “We have to stay together because we have a baby together.” “He’s providing for me so I have no choice but to stay.” “She looks out for me when I don’t have it I have to stay.” There’s so many more I could’ve said but I had to keep it short. If it doesn’t make you happy or compromises your peace LET IT GO. People become so complacent with things in their life just because. That is a form of settling and in life you should never settle with anything or anybody.

This is something that I struggle with when it comes to things and people. It wasn’t until I had a conversation with one of my friends that I noticed it. You have to come up with a list of non negotiables. One of my non-negotiables is my peace. I will not compromise my happiness in my life, for anything or anybody, I don’t care what it is. No money in the world can cause me to compromise my happiness. It took me a long time to get here so I refuse to let somebody ruin it. What is something you will never compromise? If you don’t know that’s okay but think of a list and remove anything or anybody out of your life who is costing you that. Well that’s all for Blogmas Tea today. Before you go repeat after me, I will no longer compromise my (*insert non negotiable*) for convenience!

That’s all I have to say today, let me try to catch some sleep on this plane. Until tomorrow......
