Blogmas Day Twenty-Two: Motivation To Keep Going

dymond phillips • Dec 22, 2020
I can not believe Christmas is literally two days away. The new year is quickly approaching. Many people are starting to plan their goals for next year, and reflecting over this year. Many people feel defeated because, they weren’t able to accomplish everything they wanted to accomplish this year. Remember when things don’t go as planned you must persevere. Nipsey Hussle, may he rest in peace, once said, life is a marathon. Life being a marathon means, you have to have endurance to ride the highs and the lows. The only way you can run in the marathon, is by having a clear vision. What is your vision? What is the goal? Life won’t always go as planned. You have to be so dedicated to the vision that you push through anyway. People who reach success, are people who stay down. It’s the people who don’t quit, who reach success. Maybe this year wasn’t what you thought it would be, but it’s all a part of the journey.

Reaching towards greatness, is not supposed to be easy. I don’t know why so many people think the road to success is a straight ladder up, it’s not. When you look at successful people like Kobe Bryant, Nipsey Hussle, Chadwick Boseman, Jay-Z, Beyoncé, and all the other greats you see, they all had endurance. They all had/have the marathon mindset. Nipsey Hussle, spoke about the marathon mindset and how he applied it to his life. Even if you didn’t like him as a rapper, you can learn a lot from his story.

Don’t lose sight of your vision because things aren’t going as planned. Don’t forget your dreams, because 2020 was a hard year. Give yourself some grace, and come up with a new plan to make your dreams a reality. We are less than two weeks away from a new year, which is a new chapter. Let this be the last year you fear change, doubt yourself and quit. Get back focused, speed is not important direction is. Even if you only took one step towards your dreams this year, you did it. It's all about laying bricks each day until your wall is built. Continue the marathon. Get back in the race!
