Day One of End Of Summer Fast & Detox

Trade your expectation to appreciation and the world changes instantly 

Can you believe we are halfway through the first day of the fast and detox. I want to thank you for joining me. This week won't be easy, but it will get easier. How are you feeling in this moment? Today I wanted to come check with you and make sure you actually are taking this seriously. First thing is make sure you are not short changing God. Write down the things that you decided to give up and actually analyze them if it's not things you do multiple times a day, try to switch it for something else. Also with this being the first day I want to make sure you are not just giving up things. The point is to use the time you usually spend doing those things to pray and glorify God. Sit in silence and hear your own voice.

I will be honest and say today was hard for me. It's 7pm and I haven't eaten anything since 10am, so I'm starving. I have been craving Starbucks. On top of that, I feel like I missed so much by not being on social media. Even with all the struggles happening today, I am focused on God. When I think about everything he does for me daily, I refuse to complain about my fleshes desires. I took the day to look at my life, the people in it, things I've overcame, my failures, the highs and lows, and one thing I can say is I'm blessed. We are in the middle of a global pandemic and my family and friends haven't wanted for anything. So many blessings have came out of this pandemic. Today, I want you to look at your life. Step outside yourself and analyze where you are now. Understand that blessings and favor come with GRATITUDE. For example, I've been wanting to move for the longest, but I haven't been truly grateful for the place I have now. If I can't be thankful for where I am now, how can I expect God to bless me with more. You have to learn how to look at the glass half full, rather than half empty. Write a list of at least ten things you're grateful for RIGHT NOW. They can be as big or small as you want. Keep this list somewhere you can see daily and during this fast, add three things every morning. Watch how your day changes when you start with thankfulness. Sit and really give thanks to God for the ten things on this list. So many times we ask God for increase that we forget to thank him for what we have now. You might not have your dream job, but you're still employed when thousands of people have been let go. 

I know everybody is not religious if you are not and you're still participating in the detox I want to thank you too. Life detoxing is so important especially with all the foolishness going on in the world. You have to know how to silence out everything and clear your mind of anything not benefiting you. I want you to write a list of ten things you're thankful for too. Acknowledging the good that you already have in your life is the foundation of all abundance. No matter how crazy life is, there is always something to be thankful for. Sit and meditate on the list that you created. It all starts with your mind. You can complain about what you lack or you can be thankful for what you do have. You have to train your mind. You got this.
