#FastingFor4.0s

Well, today is Day One. How you feeling? I'm super excited. First off I want to thank everyone who is joining me in this back to school fast and detox. I hope you went into this fast & detox knowing that if you do it right, you'll come out better than you came in. I hope everyone started this fast by praying, no matter what religion you are. I prayed as soon as it turned noon, I even prayed for each and every one of you who joined me. Well today has been a little hard for me. As you all know I gave up fast food, everything besides water, junk food, and social media for personal use. Normally like some of you already know, I go to Starbucks everyday to write these posts. While I'm there, I usually drink about one frappuccino one cappuccino a peach infused tea, and some sort of pastry.

Since I let go of all drinks besides water, I can't drink Starbucks. I have been craving Starbucks literally all day so I had to get in my car and pray that God helps remove this craving I can't seem to shake. Then it dawned on me I spend about $16 a day on Starbucks that is something I need to work on because that is a lot of money when you go daily. I normally get fast food at least once a day. So today when I found myself being out and about and starving I stopped at Red Lobster for a salad and lunch combo. I spent about $10 and that's only a couple more dollars than I usually spend at Taco Bell. I was even able to do the work I normally do at Starbucks while I was there. After I did that my craving for Starbucks had went away. I was able to go finish up my work at Starbucks and only drank water (which was actually good, they have an amazing filter) and eat some almonds.

Well with this being day one for the detox day as well. Here's what I want you to do. Write down your goals for this fast and detox. Write down your goals for this school year academically and personally. If you aren't in school, write down your goals for this upcoming season. After that I want you to write down the steps you are going to take to obtain these goals. You can do this on actual paper or even in your notes in your phone. (p.s excuse my ugly boy handwriting lol)
Those of you are religious now I ask that when you pray you thank God in advance for those goals. Also, those who are fasting I need you to read this scripture Mathew 6:16-18. I decided to make that the first scripture for day one for a couple reasons. It talks about how you shouldn't look like you're fasting. What he means by this is, is when you fast don't go around telling everybody you're fasting like a showoff. You shouldn't look like you're sad and weak. God wants us to fast unto him cheerfully. Don't be a hypocrite!

"16 “And when you fast, do not look gloomy like the hypocrites, for they disfigure their faces that their fasting may be seen by others. Truly, I say to you, they have received their reward. 17 But when you fast, anoint your head and wash your face,18 that your fasting may not be seen by others but by your Father who is in secret. And your Father who sees in secret will reward you."

Well that's all I have to say to you all today, keep praying and self reflecting. If you have any questions for me send me a message or DM.
