Don't Count Yourself Out

Faith and fear can not live in the same space. One will push the other out. How can you believe you can have something, but still have doubts in the back of your mind. That could be the thing stopping you from reaching where God wants you to go.  Many successful people didn’t have a plan B. They only had Plan A, and they were going to work as hard as they needed to, to make that work. There's always going to be an excuse as to why you can't do something. At times, it will feel like the odds are all against you, but you that's when you must go for gusto. God never said we wouldn't endure trials. He never said nothing bad would happen, but you have to be persistent. Put in the work when things are good, but more importantly, put in the work when things are bad.

2020 has been a year of trials and tribulations. Last Thursday, Chadwick Boseman, passed away. He had been battling colon cancer since 2016. Since he was first diagnosed with stage three cancer, he went on to chase his dreams in a major way.Yes, he was acting before, but when this tragic news struck he turned it up a notch. Rather than sit around hopeless and feeling like life is over, he decided to go for the go. Since 2016, he’s starred in some major movies, including Black Panther, 42, Marshall and 21 Bridges. Personally, I loved each of these movies. He gave his all in each movie he acted in. On top of that, he worked with Spike Lee and even found time to fight for his people. That’s inspiring to me. If 2020 hasn’t taught me anything, it’s taught me to go after my dreams. It lit a flame in me to go harder. Chadwick endured so much negativity in the media for looking tired and seeming uninterested in what was going on. Whole time he was going thru a silent battle. You never know what someone is going through, but that's another lesson for another post! He fought thru that and broke barriers.

Just because bad things happen in life, it doesn't mean life is over. In those moments, you need to push thru the pain. You can't give up on yourself because of the circumstances you're in. Use that circumstance to push to make it happen anyway. You're stronger than you think, you have to light your flame. Activate the fighter in you. Maya Angelou once said, "You may encounter many defeats, but you must not be defeated. In fact, it may be necessary to encounter the defeats, so you can know who you are, what you can rise from, how you can still come out of it.” You got this!
