Don't Forget The Most Important Love

Happy Valentine’s Day! No matter where you are in your life; whether you’re single, in a relationship or figuring it out, I hope you enjoy your day. For those of you who are single and not feeling the best about this holiday, click here to read my post on how to survive Valentine’s Day being single. With everything going on, on this commercial holiday, I want to make sure that you're mentally doing good. Although the world may try to show you that the meaning of today, is gifts and relationships, but that’s not true. Valentine’s Day is a day of love.

What is the best form of love? Self-love is most important, no matter what your relationship status is. Self-love is crucial. You have to love yourself. So many people tend to look to relationships, social media or the world to be complete, but those things can't fill you. Self love breads self worth and confidence. Another hurdle we face when finding self love is, comparing ourselves to others. Don't diminish your self esteem by looking at other peoples paths. God has a specific plan for you. Before you can be in a healthy, loving relationship, you need to have self love. On this day of love, I challenge you to look within. When you have self love, it doesn’t mean you don’t want to grow and evolve. Having self love, means you accept who you are right now, and you put your physical, emotional and mental well-being first. When you truly love yourself, you only choose things that nurture your well-being and serve you. That goes for people, situations, jobs, and literally every aspect of your life.

The more you love yourself, the more confident you'll be, and the happier your life ultimately will be. A confident person, knows who they are and does not let anyone change that. When you’re confident in who you are and whose you are (God,) you walk with your shoulders back and your head high. Showing love to yourself is a daily task. Showing love today you can look different tomorrow; today, I might buy myself roses, but tomorrow self-love might be extending some grace on mistakes that I’ve made. I challenge you to love on yourself a little bit more today. Do something you love to do. Do some self-care on this Valentine’s Day Monday. This does not only apply to single people, even if you’re in a relationship, you need to love yourself. Remember that if no one else has you, you have to have you.

While you’re sharing all this love on this special day, don’t forget the most special person, YOU! 💗
