Fasting For 4.0s

It's backkkkk!!!!

Summer is quickly coming to an end, and with that means school is slowly approaching. I can't believe how fast time is flying by, can you believe there is only four months left in 2018. With a new school year coming I want to make sure everybody is mentally and physically prepared to make this one count. I'm super excited to announce that my 2nd annual, Back To School Fast And Detox is back!!!

Last years fast and detox had such a mind blowing turn out that I had to do it again. I know in the south some students have already went back to school and college students are going back within the next few weeks but it’s still the perfect time to fast. This is not just for students this can be for anybody. This fast and detox is to mentally and spiritually get you ready for your new season. Last year I had students, parents, business owners, and millennials participate. It will start Thurs
day August 9th at noon and run until Wednesday August 15th at noon.

Fasting is when we voluntarily chose to give up something of value to us with the purpose to replace it with intimate time with God. Many great saints fasted like David, Esther, Paul, Elijah, Moses, and Jesus. Fasting is to be done for a God-Centered purpose. Fasting is a great way for us to review the things in our life that control us. If anger, bitterness, jealousy, and fear are within us they tend to surface during fasting. Thru fasting we become more aware of the areas that God's spirit is interested in helping us grow. Fasting helps us keep our balance in life, it helps us realize what things truly matter in our life. Most things we crave aren't essential but yet still can takeover our life.
Many people think fasting is only food. Food for some is the most difficult thing to give up. If your like me, and food is not that big to you, you have to actually sit down and think about the things that are most difficult for you to sacrifice. Some people are attached to social media, or watching TV, or partying, whatever it is for you let it go. Don't just cut it out of your life, the whole point is to fill that time with prayer and worship to God. Rather than spending your lunch break eating and watching Netflix on your phone, you should take a prayer walk and ask God to prepare you for the new season. Feast on God's word. This will be a six day fast and detox.

Like I said before this is not only a spiritual fast, this is also a detox for those of you who are not spiritual. I like to do three major detoxes a year. These detoxes can be based on food, detoxing my social media, detoxing my phone, even just detoxing your mind. This is a life detox.Throughout the detox I will have different points and activities to help you clear out your life. Take this time to also let go of at least three of your favorite go-to things.

I'm only giving myself two hours of TV a day, I'm cutting out pop juice and alcoholic drinks, I'm only allowing myself an hour on any social media for business purposes, I'm not going out, plus no shopping for entire fast. The point of me letting go of these things is for me to replace that time with prayer. Praying for breakthroughs and clarity. This is a time for silence to meditate on hearing God. Within these six days, I will be keeping you updated on scriptures to read each day and different prayers. This is a time of humbling. If you are going to join me send me a DM, email, or use the hashtag #FastingFor4.0s so that I can make sure I am praying for you all as well. Don't think about the things you're giving up focus more on the blessings that are coming. This is going to be a great experience for everybody I'm excited for those of you who are participating, Just because you do this fast doesn't mean God is going to just hand you success and breakthroughs you will still have to put forth the work.
