Fourth Quarter

dymond phillips • Oct 15, 2018
Time flies, it was just July now it's October. Do you know what that means? It means we are Q4. The fourth quarter is one of the best quarters. I do not care what happened in the first three quarters of the year, it's time to finish strong. Back in September I started thinking about quitting my job but didn't know when the right time would be. I knew in order to make that a reality I would have to go harder than ever this quarter. I started to develop a plan and as I was doing so I realized this could be possible. Actually, I had to go back to my goals I wrote down at the beginning of the year and see what I wasn't able to check off yet. Having dreams and writing down goals is not enough you must develop a plan. On top of developing a plan you must take action.

Isn't it funny, in any sports game the first quarter is where the players are excited and doing everything to win. Just like with life, at the top of the new year everybody is excited, doing vision boards, setting goals and planning for the new year. By the fourth quarter the goals we set in place at the top of the year are either done or set aside. We tend to not be as motivated as we were in the beginning. But why is that?

Go find that list of goals you wrote down for 2018. Write out a plan on how to make those goals happen. It's not too late! Why push goals off this years goals to next year. Let your creative mind fly, read new books, now is the time to innovate new ideas and plans to make your dreams a reality. I had to make another vision board to have a visual representation of what I want the rest of my year to look like. Vision boards don’t just have to happen in the first week of January. When you have something you’re working towards, it’s important to not only write it out but to visualize it in a creative way. Studies show you're more likely to achieve a goal when write it down, imagine what it would be if you added a vision board. Even if it's something you attempted in Q1 but didn't get it right try again now. Be persistent.

Success requires you to play all four quarters. Get off the bench and get your head back in the game for the last quarter. Its your time to make it count. Finish strong, you got this!
