Continuing With My Birthday Reflections and Emptying My Archives, I Want To Share Part 2 of How I Celebrated This Year

Just because I was in a season of fasting and praying didn’t mean I couldn’t enjoy my birthday. Who says fun has to be tied to alcohol or partying? This year, I discovered joy in other ways. At first, I didn’t think I’d even be able to have a birthday dinner with my close friends since I wasn’t eating certain foods or drinking. But as you saw in Part 1, that turned out to be completely untrue, I still celebrated beautifully.

Another tradition I keep every year is traveling for my birthday. At first, I had no idea where to go. I knew I didn’t want anything tropical since I had just had surgery and couldn’t wear a swimsuit yet. I also wanted something more wellness focused since I was fasting, not a trip centered around nightlife or partying. I wanted rest, relaxation, and renewal.

I asked my followers for suggestions and also talked it over with my mom. Arizona came up again and again, so I started researching. After watching a few videos, I was hooked. The flights weren’t bad, and the activities looked unique. When I told my mom, she jumped on board immediately. And I’m so glad she did, because it turned out to be one of the most memorable trips of my life.

We enjoyed amazing food; brunches, dinners, and everything in between. We took an early morning hot air balloon ride that was absolutely magical. My mom and I even drove out to the Grand Canyon, just a few hours away, and seeing it in person took my breath away. We also explored Scottsdale, Phoenix, and even Flagstaff, each city had its own charm. This trip was so special because it was about more than just sightseeing, it was about connection. Sharing these first ntime experiences with my mom is something neither of us will ever forget.

Of course, I vlogged the entire trip for you! From flying into Arizona, to road trips, to 3 AM wake up calls for the hot air balloon ride, I captured it all.  This season of my life is about trying new things, stepping outside my comfort zone, and embracing discovery. This birthday trip set the tone for chapter 28, and I couldn’t have asked for a better way to begin.

I’m excited to see everything this next year has in store, and I’m open to all the opportunities and possibilities that come my way.
