What I've Been Reading

Happy hump day. We are well into this new normal. Some cities are opening back up, and it seems like the world is moving forward. During this quarantine, I've created new habits that will continue to be in my everyday routine. If  you don't know, I study a lot of successful people. I watch old interviews, read articles and more. One similarity that all successful people have, is the fact that they read. Before this quarantine I would read occasionally, and when I felt like it. As I continued to study different successful people, I learned that reading is something they do daily. Many of them, read different genres, just to obtain the knowledge. Having knowledge gives you confidence in business.  When I wrote down my lists of new daily tasks I wanted to implement into my life, reading was at the top.
Reading daily, has many benefits. It's changed my productivity in a new way. No matter how busy I am, I learned to carve out time to read. Some days, I sit and read for hours, other days it's only 20 minutes. Reading everyday, has given me a boost when it comes to being focused and concentrating on other things. I carve out uninterrupted time to read. I like it to be uninterrupted because, I have zero distractions, and I can put all my attention into what I'm reading. Also, reading daily has expanded my vocabulary, which increases the way I interact with brands and increases my income. Reading everyday, stimulates my brain, which reduces stress. On top of that, I don't know what it is, but since I've started reading daily, my memory has become so much better! Above all, reading daily has increased my writing skills, which elevates how I speak to you. It's a great habit that I challenge you to incorporate into your daily schedule. Start small, 15-20 minute pockets everyday. With that being said, I wanted to share what I'm currently reading with you
First, if you haven't already go watch my interview with Courtney Aiken. (click here.) Courtney is the author of, 'What Waiting Looks Like' which is a guide to preparing you for your status upgrade. I read it a few weeks ago to prepare for the interview, but had to read it again. This book is phenomenal. At first, I thought it was just for single women, but it's not. Whether you're in a relationship or waiting, it's never too late to renovate yourself. This books is a easy read and will get you together. 'What Waiting Looks Like,' makes you self reflect and level-up every aspect of your life. Each chapter that I read, I make sure to journal my thoughts after. This book makes your transform your life from the inside to out. What better time than now, to upgrade your life. Grab yours now.
Second, Brittany Hennessy shifted the way I view my blogging business. Last summer, I attended the Ignite Your Influence Conference. Brittany was a keynote speaker and she shared so many gems. If you've ever watched 'The Hunger Games,' she's the Katniss Everdeen of influencer marketing. Brittany was the first senior director of influencer strategy and talent partnership at Hearst Magazines Digital Media. Brittany's book, 'Influencer,' is great for any content creator trying to monetize, and grow their influence. This book explains exactly what brands are looking for when it comes to influencer marketing. 'Influencer,' reveals how to pitch to different companies, tips for engaging with your audience, and even how to get on the radar of your favorite brands. Since I started reading this, I've implemented key things that my blogging business was missing. This book gives you the core influencer principles. With everyone being at home, it's the best time to grow your online influence. No matter how long you've been in business, it's never too late to learn new tips. Grab yours now
This months reads were focused on leveling up. Both books challenged me to upgrade different places in my life and business. If you're in the market to find new books to read, definitely check both of these out. I can't wait for you to see how reading daily will change your life. Come out of this quarantine like a caterpillar, who went into a cocoon, and came out a butterfly.  Until next week, make sure you stay safe!
