It’s my favorite night of the week, DATE NIGHT! I don’t care if it is a self date, intimate date, or even friend date, I'm always down for a date night. I’m so glad the temperatures are heating up and I’m able to do daytime dates now. Date nights are so important with your partner and friends. It’s equally important to always date yourself. Today is Memorial Day, and it’s supposed to be 90°, what better day for a date night? Today I wanted to show you how I prep for a spring date night, because the preparation is just as important as the actual date. Today’s get ready with me is featuring Boxycharm May box. Preparing for a date night is so much fun. I feel like I’m a little girl playing dress up. I know it may sound crazy, but I have a mini checklist of things that I do to get ready for the date. Since today was a spontaneous date night, I had to skip some things on my list. My best piece of advice for spring date nights, is to always stay ready so you don’t have to get ready. That means keep an outfit on hand, and make sure your hair and nails stay done. That way if something pops up, you’re not scrambling day of, trying to get everything done. Also, keep a list of places, including restaurants and outings, that you want to try, so that if you feel like taking yourself out, you know where to go. I literally have a list of 60 restaurants I want to try all over the United States, I’m always adding new spots to it.
First things first let’s get this skin together. With it being spring/summer, the sun is shining. I love looking sun-kissed and moisturized. Before I can moisturize, I need to get all this hair off of my body. Don’t judge me, but I literally shave every single day. I just personally love my body to be smooth so I make sure I shave my legs and under arms daily, ESPECIALLY IN THE SUMMER. Want to know a secret that took me a while to discover? The razor that you’re using really matters. Please invest into a good razor. This month in my Boxycharm box, I received the, Refreshments Dazzling 5-Blade Razor Kit. This razor was everything. It came with two blades, and I’m able to order replacement ones. It also came with a magnetic wall mount that can stick to any surface. The brand has so many bathroom products, and you’re able to subscribe and schedule your deliveries. This razor was so gentle and left my skin filling extremely smooth.
Next, continuing on with skin, using a good body wash, exfoliator, and serum is key to having soft skin. Another product I received in my Boxycharm box this month, was the Farmacy Honeymoon Glow Body Body Serum. I love this brand, and I actually found out about them, from Boxycharm. I use their cleanser and toner on my face. This serum was what I like to call a pre-lotion. After I washed up, I put this all over my skin and let it sit for about a minute and then rinsed it off. It was so hydrating and instantly softened my skin. This product is meant to improve texture and tone for smoother glowing skin, while also eliminating bumps with 10% lactic acid. This kept my body moisturized before I got a chance to put on my lotion and body butter.
After a shower, I move on to getting my face prepped. Before I do my make up, I make sure to do my skin care routine. We all know the base of any good make up look, is having clear skin. After my face is all cleaned and moisturized, I move on to prepping for make up. Another product I received in my Boxycharm box this month, was the
Skin Inc Serum Glow Filter. This product blends beauty and technology in a bottle. I used two pumps as a primer for my foundation. It is meant to brighten and even skin tone, while reducing the appearance of lines. The one thing that I found so cool with this product was that it had gold hibiscus extract that acts as a make up base. This primer was super lightweight and hydrating.
Next up, I was feeling super spontaneous today. Most of you know, I rarely do eyeshadow, but I was in a good mood today so why not. Another product that I received in my box was the, Basic Beauty Eyeshadow Primer.
This primer base is made with hemp seed oil‘s to moisturize and maximize the color intensity of eyeshadows. This product definitely made my eyeshadow more vibrant in color. It also helped my shadow from creasing and is supposed to last up to 12 hours. Because it is so warm outside, I wanted to keep my make up more on the natural side so I did a neutral eye color.
Last thing, as I finish this make up look I wanted to keep the lip color super fun and bright. Since I’m going on a daytime date, I thought why not do a pop of color. Another product I received in my Boxycharm box this month, was the V Kosmetics Liquid Velvet Lipstick in the shade bubbly. It is a true pink that screams spring/summer. This formula was extremely creamy and light weight. On top of that, it’s very long wearing. This months Boxycharm theme was Super Bloom and I feel like a pretty flower with this pink lipstick on.
Well there you have it. This is how I prepare for a date night. Of course finding an outfit, plus having your hair and nails is super important, but prepping your body and skin is equally as important. Who doesn’t want to go on a date with dewy and glowing skin? I threw on a button-down mini dress and added a pair of brown mules. I'm going to enjoy the weather and see what the night brings. I love date night specially during this time.
