7 Affordable Lipsticks Perfect For Fall

I love all things beauty. As the seasons change, beauty trends change too. Back on National Lipstick Day, I wrote a post about lipsticks for black girls, featuring The Lip Bar. (CLICK HERE TO READ.) Before that post, I had never worn colored lipsticks, besides red, nude and pink. That was back in July, it's now October, and I needed to add some darker colors to my collection. I went to Ulta, Sephora, and Target, to pick up some new lipsticks. I was on the hunt for my fall signature shade. While I was out doing that, an idea popped into my head. That idea, was to come up with a list of seven lipsticks for the fall. Not just any lipsticks, I wanted to make it ONLY affordable lipsticks. Makeup can be very pricey, I wanted to find lipstick shades that everyone could afford. Keep in mind, I'm new to the lipstick world and easing my way into it! All seven of these lipsticks can be picked up at your local Target, Walmart or any drug stores. On top of that, they're all under $10.

1. Maybelline Voyager. This lipstick is part of the SuperStay Matte Ink collection. It is a liquid lipstick. I purchased this color because, Mattie James, a lifestyle blogger, wore it on a Instagram live. Mattie is lighter than me, so I was a littler nervous getting this shade. After seeing her talk nonstop for an hour, and seeing the lipstick still be perfectly laid on her lips, I had to purchase it. Once I put it on my lips, I instantly fell in love. It's a deep red lipstick. Sometimes matte lipsticks are dry and harsh on my lips. This matte lipstick glides on and has the perfect texture. This shade is so bold and stays on forever.

2. Morphe Peanut. This is another liquid lipstick. This one is a soft matte. The color is a little lighter than I expected. I thought it would be more orange, but it's a nudist orange. No matter what shade you are, this color will work with you. I added a brown lip liner to make it pop. It smells like vanilla. The formula is so creamy and pigmented, I didn't have to use a whole lot.

3. Nyx Cactus Dreams. This is the perfect fall orange shade. It's a deep orange color. I was so nervous about trying orange lipstick, but this is honestly one of my favorites. This lipstick was so moisturizing when I put it on. A little bit goes a long way. It's a satin lipstick with a smooth finish. The packagings is what sold me, it has a cute heart on it. Get ready to see me wearing this all fall.

4. L'Oreal Roseblood. This is the perfect Burgundy/dark purple lipstick. It's a liquid matte lipstick with a matte finish. It stays on forever, I literally had to scrub my lips for it to come off. No matter what shade you are, you need a good burgundy lipstick. I used to only love red lipstick, I'm now leaning more into burgundy. This shade could also be paired with a red lipstick for a ombre affect.

5. Revlon Bare Affair. Please don't ask why I picked this up. It's a very light nude that I would need to pair with a dark lip liner to wear. Before this, I would have never picked up this color, just because it's so close to my natural lip color. The name matches the shade perfectly. If you want a everyday natural lip color, this is it!!! Your lips look natural and moisturized. I would wear this on top of a lip liner on my lips. I would shade in my lips completely and throw this on top. The application was so smooth.

6. L'Oreal Yum. This is from the Infallible Pro Matte Liquid Lipstick Les Chocolat collection. This is my favorite out of all the fall shades I tried. I always wanted to try the dark brown lipstick trend but I was nervous. As soon as I tried on this shade, I fell in love. This one is the most affordable out of all the lipsticks, it's only $5.49! For it to be matte, it drys and still looks smooth. Dark lipsticks look good on every shade, pair it with your perfect sweater and start your day. A bonus is, it smells just like chocolate, I wanted to eat it.

7. Colour Pop Starling. My new favorite nude. This is perfect for that soft, diffused just-blotted look. It's a medium coverage liquid lipstick that dries matte. It doesn’t budge, and feels soft and comfy on the lips. I used to use velvet nude lipsticks, but not anymore. It's described as a diffused deep yellow nude. I only had to apply one layer for me to get the perfect color. In every season, you need a good nude lipstick, especially in the fall.
