Weekend Ski Trip With My Friends

First trip of 2023 in the books. Last weekend, I took my best friend and her little sister to Aspen, Colorado for her birthday. I asked my best friend where she would want to go in the US, and she said Colorado. At first, I was a little skeptical about going on vacation to the cold, because I'm in Michigan, and it's already snow here. I'm so glad I decided to still go.The flight was two hours and 45 minutes. Soon as we touched down in CO, my mouth was on the floor. The views in Colorado were STUNNING!

We flew into Denver, and drove to Aspen. The drive was about three and a half hours. During that drive, seeing all the mountains and tunnels, was like being in a movie. Imagine stepping into a postcard, that's exactly how it felt being there. After we made it to Aspen, we checked in and headed to a amusement park to ride the Mountain Coaster. That whole experience was fun. I rode my first gondola, which is the cable transport to take you up the mountain. The amusement park was on top of the mountain. It was their Fire & Ice festival, so they had fire dancers. We went at night time, so it was so dark coming down the gondola (the mountains need street lights, ha.) Our first night, I got super sick for about two hours, I was dizzy and felt extremely nauseous, I had no idea what it was. I learned that it was Altitude Sickness from adjusting to the lower oxygen pressure at the new altitude. We were supposed to have dinner at Catch Aspen, but they cancelled due to a pipe bursting. Luckily we were able to have dinner at Steak House No. 316. After dinner we went to a lounge and had some drinks.

The second day, we woke up early and drove to Breckenridge, CO. It was only about two hours away and was on the way back to Denver, while we were there we went on a three hour Snow Mobile tour. This was sort of like being on a jet ski, but in the snow. The tour took us up the mountain, we were up 12,000 feet. The views were beautiful, but coming down was a little nerve wrecking. After our excursion we drove to Denver for dinner at Ocean Prime. After dinner, we walked around this alley with different bars. We ended up stopping in a upscale bar and ended our night there.

We had a pretty early flight out on Monday. I went with them to Atlanta for what was supposed to be a day, but ended up being two. Overall, Colorado was really pretty and freezing at the same time. It was a great experience and I would definitely go back to ski. Unfortunately we didn't have time to ski because our trip was only two days. I hope you enjoy watching this vlog of our trip. I even included a small portion of my time in ATL, which includes a spa day, dinner and some nights out. Thank you so much for watching.
