Do You Know What Today Is?

Today Is January 15th 2018. Yes it's Martin Luther King Jr. birthday but do you know what else today is? It's my parents one year anniversary!!!!! My light skinned daddy has been in my life for over three years now, but they tied the knot last January. Well they officially got married at the courthouse on the 10th, but the wedding ceremony was on the 15th. They had a beautiful wedding ceremony in Cancun, at the perfect resort. I wish we could just go back because it was so much fun. When you look at my parents you can tell they're soulmates. They act alike but still have major differences. That's my "relationship goal" because they compliment each other. Of course they have problems like any other couple but they work thru them. It's truly a blessing when you find your equal who loves you unconditionally. Happy anniversary to my favorite couple ever!
New Paragraph
One thing my parents marriage taught me is to never settle. God has the perfect person for you who you will laugh, cry, grow and build with. Don't rush it and don't force anything. Let love find you at the right time. You never know you might've met your soulmate already. God may be waiting on you to become the person he designed you to be before he brings them into your life. Just focus on getting yourself better and in due time it'll come! My parents are literally like best friends they have a ball together, I refuse to be in a relationship if I'm not smiling how my my mom smiles everyday.
I still remember when my dad texted me asking me if he could marry her. I was super excited but played it cool lol. Don't get me wrong he always felt like a dad to me. But it was at that moment that I knew he was the perfect one. I was happy that he thought to even ask my opinion. He stepped into my life and has taken me under his wing like his own. I love watching these two around each other, yes they get on my nerves but I'm happy for my bonus daddy and my bonus brother I now have. I gained another grandmother and even more family members who welcomed me with open arms. One year down a lifetime to go...
