Year Of The Underdog

Now I know you tuned in to watch the biggest night of the NFL, The Super Bowl. Even if you didn't actually watch the game I know you watched the half-time performance by Justin Timberlake. Let's say you didn't watch the game or half-time show, between social media and everybody who did watch, I know you know what happened. The Philadelphia Eagles beat the New England Patriots 41 to 33. Many people didn't expect that but I knew from the beginning they'd win. The Patriots have won five Super Bowls, while the Eagles have only won one. The Eagles have had a great season overall.
That makes the Eagles the underdogs. Now you may be wondering, what is an underdog? Well an underdog is someone who is hardly noticed. Kind of the opposite of popular or the best, but not exactly the worst. Another definition for the word is, "A competitor thought to have little chance of winning a fight or contest." Many of us don’t root for ourselves because we’re the underdog. Maybe it’s because we don’t have the resources, access or opportunities others have. Maybe the same people always win and they’re different than we are. But whatever the case, we sell ourselves short.
Being the underdog doesn't void you out the game, your mindset does. You have to believe that you belong in the game. This is much more deeper than football. In life, you may be overlooked but you have to show the world you mean business. You have to have self-motivation. If the whole world counts you out, you have to push for it and show them. "If you believe you belong in the game, winning it becomes much more a reality."
2018 is the year of the underdog. It's the year that we will get the credit we deserve! Do yourself a favor, root for the underdog (you!) and watch them shock everyone by winning the game.
