One of the biggest questions I get is, "What type of guys do you like?" Well this week I wanted to share one thing that is super attractive to me in a man. I absolutely love a man that can dress. Don't get me wrong fellas it's nothing wrong with throwing on some basketball shorts and a tee but its something about a guy who can switch it every once and a while that's HOT! I too love my lounge wear but it's times where athlesure isn't acceptable. At those times, it shows what type of person you are.
So many people, especially millenials, believe that the ability to dress depends on what name brands you're wearing. That is not at all true. So many celebrities wear all these high end brands but fail to add their own style to it, so they end up looking goofy. I DON'T CARE how many designer belts you own, how many designer sneakers you have or how many gold chains you have around your neck, if you can't make a H&M button down look GOOD I don't want you.
One celebrity style I absolutely love is Fabolous. I've honestly always loved Fab style. It's super chill but he adds some drip to it. He knows how to dress up some joggers and make it a look. Now he does add designer pieces in here and there but not all the time, he does it to where it doesn't look over bearing. If you don't have any designer pieces it's okay. I know some people who can make ZARA, H&M and URBAN OUTFITTERS look good. For example, one of my previous style of the weeks, Jason, knows how to piece outfits together really well.
Another male style I'm obsessed with is my dad's. When he was in high school he got best dressed and if you've seen him you'd know why. He has a natural eye for fashion. Even when I have interviews or events I run my outfit ideas by him to get his opinion because he always see's the vision. My dad has a very sleek style. He can wear a full suit and switch it up and be completely casual. His go to look has to be either his white polo tee with some jeans He even throws on button downs with loafers to make looks for casual.
Now let’s talk accessories. Fellas less is more in my opinion. No need to have on four chains big quarter size earrings two watched and some iced out glasses. I think a gold chain with a nice watch is super laid back and cute. If you do wear earrings, bigger isn’t always better TRUST ME! Another trend I do like is maybe a gold ring on the pinky is different but cute sometimes. Guys it’s ok to add some shades to add to any outfit. I love seeing a man in a nice pair of sun glasses. My dad shades game is phenomenal. He has different pairs of Cartiers, Gucci and more. Now I know everybody can’t afford high end brands but check out Saks Off Fifth and Nordstrom Rack for cute cheap designer shades. They have high end brands for as low as $100.
Moral of the story is fellas get you a good jean some nice sneakers or shoes and a nice pair of shades for the perfect outfit. It doesn’t have to always be the newest Jordan’s, switch it up. Plain tees or small graphic tees are essentials every man should have. Also pick up some button downs from Polo, H&M or Macy’s. Trust me ladies love a man who can dress it shows so much about your character. Watch how much a difference a few pieces can make. You’ll thank me later! Remember, confidence is EVERYTHING. Wear your confidence and watch how much better your outfits look.
