Success Requires Inconveniences

dymond phillips • May 01, 2018
It's hard to believe we are one day into month five out of twelve. Can you believe it's already May of 2018. I still remember NYE as if it was yesterday. All the goals and things I had written out and said I wanted to accomplish in 2018. That "New year, new me" mindset has worn off of a lot of people. You know why? Because becoming a better version of yourself is inconvenient. Which usually means early mornings and late nights. It requires hard work when you don’t feel like working. It means doing things you’ve never done before and not knowing if it's the right thing. It also means doing things that most people aren’t willing to do - miss out on social guaranteed-to-be-fun events, save or invest (usually a large sum of) money and/or be radically disciplined for a long period of time.

If you don't become the best version of yourself, how can you be successful. How can you thrive in life? You have to be willing to "level up." It's easy to start off the New Year with all these new ideas and goals, it's another thing to actually keep it up and stay consistent. It's inevitable that you'll fall short and get off track. We all do, but you have to know when to refocus yourself. Whatever success is for you whether it's school, entrepreneurship, moving up in work, to reach your goals, your focus requires temporary inconvenience to achieve permanent results.

Are you willing to inconvenience yourself daily to become who you’ve wanted to be all your life?
