You Don't Need Motivation

Learning the difference between habit and motivation has been a huge life changer for me. Learning the difference between forming a habit and being motivated is really going to set you apart from other people and is going to be a huge part of you being successful. So many people ask me what I do for motivation and who motivates me because they lack it. But the reality is motivation really doesn't matter, forming/having a habit is actually way more important. You have to form a habit so when you're lacking motivation you are going to get it done reguardless.

Now this applies to all aspects of life. You might not want to do things that'll take you to the next level because you're feeling unmotivated but thats where you have to form habits so that you'll do it anyway. I honestly believe it only takes 21 days to form a habit so pick a month or a day and tell yourself for the next 30 days I'm going to do "whatever it is." Learn to create schedules for yourself. Last year, I "went with the flow" and wasn't doing well because I didn't have a schedule. You have to "train" yourself to do the things you know will help your success.
For example, nine days ago I started a new morning routine. My normal morning routine is to wake up, get in the shower, pray while I'm in there, get out wash my face and brush my teeth, get dressed and get coffee. The first new thing that I've implemented into my morning routine is to drink a bottle/glass of water as soon as I step foot out the bed. Now I know this sounds normal but I used to start my mornings with coffee or orange juice or the first thing I saw. But I read somewhere that it's good for your body to start your morning by drinking water before anything else. So I said I'm just going to do it without thinking no matter how bad I don't want to. And now it's something I just do naturally. The second thing I added was to write a quote on a sticky note and place it on my mirror every morning after my shower. Both of these aren't things I just really want to do, but I'm making it a point to do it until they become habits. I love how after these short nine days they've naturally gravitated into my morning routine. Consistency is the number one key to winning at life. If you aren't consistent, it doesn't matter how motivated you are.

Motivation is easily lost, you have to push past that. The things you want in life won't always happen over night, hell sometimes success doesn't come in a year or even two, but if you remain consistent it will eventually happen. One way to form a habit is just doing what it is you don't want to do. A lot of times I get up and I don't feel like doing homework or even writing posts but I get out my laptop and start doing it. When you're doing it, you forget about not wanting to do it. Plus you get it done! Nobody is going to force you to do the things you know you need to be doing. If you want it, you have to form that habit.
In the end it becomes easier to form that habit. It becomes apart of your routine like brushing your teeth. Also when you start seeing results, fuels you. For example, I just reached 3,000 readers and it made me want to keep going and pushing. Another example is when you're working out (which I need to start doing again, post on that coming soon) the first month or two you might not see any changes. But once you do it fuels you because you see it's actually working.

Stop being so negative when it comes to motivation because in reality motivation means nothing. Habit is what means something and keeps you going. Plus habit is going to give you that motivation to get whatever needs to be done done. Keep grinding and staying positive and watch the change you want to see come!
p.s. huge thank you to ItsMelissaFlores for putting a video on YouTube about this. She was my inspiration
